Thematic working groups
Join a working group focused on a domain or method — from climate-economic modeling to agent-based simulation to participatory foresight.
Get Involved
CNCS is building Canada's complex-systems capability through research, infrastructure development, and cross-sector collaboration. As we establish the network, we are welcoming founding contributors from across domains and regions.
Complex systems work only succeeds when it draws on many ways of knowing. We invite participation from:
Ways to Engage
As a network in formation, most of our early engagement is about shared priorities, contributed expertise, and connecting existing work.
Join a working group focused on a domain or method — from climate-economic modeling to agent-based simulation to participatory foresight.
Bring your expertise into the design of CNCS research and capability roadmaps. We need depth across many fields.
Participate in initial convenings and consultations as the network's research agenda and governance take shape.
Help identify shared research priorities across sectors — the questions that are too big for any one institution to answer alone.
Explore partnership and funding pathways for collaborative programs, infrastructure, and applied pilots.
Link existing labs, data platforms, and institutional resources into a more coherent national capability.
As CNCS develops, additional pathways will include fellowships, projects, capacity-building programs, community pilots, and shared modeling and simulation tools. We are building intentionally, with attention to scientific rigor, public value, and cross-sector collaboration.
CNCS is in early formation — we welcome expressions of interest from individuals and organizations aligned with this mission. The best time to help shape a network is at the beginning.
